Dexter Cattle now out Grazing at Hatchmead West End

We have today finally managed to put three Dexter cows (Erica, Fern & Ruth) out to Hatch mead nature reserve sight at West End, following the re fencing of the sight and the mains water being installed. The cattle are out to manage the site at West End as it a site for nature conservation and is required to be grazed to encourage the various flora and fauna to thrive.
This is a joint venture between Mark Black Farming Ltd & West End Parish Council and I hope the cattle will add a great benefit to the site and that all walkers and dog walkers will enjoy seeing the cattle on the site.
The cattle are by far the quietest cattle I own and will come to the bucket and are halter trained one of them obtaining a rosette last year at the Ardingly cattle show in West Sussex.

I would just ask that dog walkers keep their dogs under control while walking though the site, I would also welcome any e mailed photo's to me so I can upload to the website for any budding David Baileys out there.
Many thanks to Chris Jackson for a superb fencing job & WJB Maintenance for the water pipe laying & trough installation a job well jobbed.

They are lovely. Erica seems to be the first to come over and say hello each time. We are a bit concerned that most other dog owners are ignoring the notice asking for dogs to be put on a lead. Perhaps the notices should make it clear there should be no exceptions to this.
