Beef available from 10th December 2018

I will have some beef available for delivery from the 10th December 2018. I am aware I have some outstanding orders and these will take priority. However if you are after some beef for Christmas then why not order a 5kg or a 10kg box of Dexter beef.

at the forefront is the newest born calf to the herd born on 05/04/2017 Ickleblack Digby a cracking quiet male calf born to Hollington Ruth one of our more vocal cows. This photo is now on the home page of my website.

Hi Folks I currently only have the following frozen cuts of Dexter beef in stock and available for ordering on my sales page/ beef order form.
Just click on what you require and it will add it to your cart and I will contact you for a personal delivery date once ordered and paid for.
I currently have in stock:
3 x Topside Roasting Joints approx 900g - 1kg
5 X Brisket Roasting Joints approx 900g - 1kg
9 x Chuck steak packs appox 800g
5 x Blade steak packs approx 500g
3 x Braising steak packs approx 500g
7 x Shin casserole beef packs approx 500g

Individual Beef Cuts Price List

I have received a few request lately for some individual cuts of beef price list.
I currently have some frozen beef available and have listed them below.
I will update the sales order form in the week to include individual joints and cuts etc.
As I will be personally delivering the beef I would like a minimum order of £20 to make my trip out worthwhile.
If you wish to order any beef please e mail me or Facebook message me your requirements.
My prices are fair and on par with Mr Tesco and I know you won't be disappointed.
Topside/Silverside Roasting Joint £ 12 per Kilo
Brisket Roasting Joint £10 per kilo
Rump Steak £14 per kilo 2 steaks to a pack
Sirloin Steak £12 per kilo 2 steaks to a pack
Braising Steak £9.50 per kilo
Chuck Steak £9.50 per kilo
Diced & Shin Beef for casseroles £4.50 per 500g pack
Minced beef £3.50 per 500g pack or 3 for £10

Hi folks Just to let you know I will have some beef ready for delivery within next 2-3 weeks, please in box me your orders for 5 kg or 10 kg box requests.
I will also have some more beef available in December if you require an order for the Christmas period.
First come first served I am afraid but I will make sure those that miss out are priority for next time round.
This beef is quality grass fed, farm assured beef from my own herd of Dexter cattle. you will not be disappointed the meat is superb even if I do say so myself.
Go on treat yourself you know you want to and once you have had Ickleblack you will never go back.

Dexter Cattle now out Grazing at Hatchmead West End

We have today finally managed to put three Dexter cows (Erica, Fern & Ruth) out to Hatch mead nature reserve sight at West End, following the re fencing of the sight and the mains water being installed. The cattle are out to manage the site at West End as it a site for nature conservation and is required to be grazed to encourage the various flora and fauna to thrive.
This is a joint venture between Mark Black Farming Ltd & West End Parish Council and I hope the cattle will add a great benefit to the site and that all walkers and dog walkers will enjoy seeing the cattle on the site.
The cattle are by far the quietest cattle I own and will come to the bucket and are halter trained one of them obtaining a rosette last year at the Ardingly cattle show in West Sussex.
I would just ask that dog walkers keep their dogs under control while walking though the site, I would also welcome any e mailed photo's to me so I can upload to the website for any budding David Baileys out there.

Mark Black Farming Ltd now fully red tractor farm assured

Mark Black Farming has now been independently inspected and is certified as fully conforming to the Red tractor farm assurance beef & lamb scheme standards.
Just proving we offer the highest welfare standards for our animals from field to fork.
We are now proud to say we follow the same standards for some of the bigger farmers that supply most of the large supermarket chains.
However we prefer to still offer our quality product locally and feel this will benefit our customers.

New Pedigree Jacob Sheep will soon be an addition to Mark Black Farming from Saturday 13th September.

Have just agreed to purchase some Pedigree Jacob Ewe Lamb Sheep from a local Winchester based pedigree breeder.
I will collect the sheep on Saturday and this will be the start of mine and my brothers new breeding flock as soon as they are old enough to breed.
Jacobs are are an attractive, hardy and long-lived sheep, and they produce a flavoursome lean meat.
The Jacob Originally dates back to the Mediterranean and were known to be present in England as far back as the 1750's, so these will be ideally suited for our style of conservation grazing as well as eventually producing some quality lean lamb for sale in the future.
